As a mature student and having never played the guitar it was with some trepidation that I attended my first lesson. Those fears proved to be unfounded as I grew in confidence over the weeks under Mick's friendly and calming manner. Lessons were practical based with time equally shared between improving my knowledge of and developing my guitar skills to learning new songs. Each lesson was supported with a superb handout covering all aspects from the lesson, building into my own encyclopaedia of playing the guitar, a great source of reference! Within weeks I was feeling at ease with my guitar and becoming more confident in my own ability, supported by Mick's patience and professionalism this all made for informative and most importantly enjoyable lessons to attend.

Mick has taught my daughter the electric and acoustic guitar for the past 2.5 years.  My daughter now can play various songs and sings to accompany her own playing.  More than that, she understands the theory behind it.  Mick adapts his teaching to suit,  is clear and patient with his explanations and makes it fun.  She loves to go every time.  

Mick has also advised us when it came to purchasing the right guitars for her, and re-strings these when necessary. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mick for guitar lessons if your child wants to learn to play the guitar and is willing to practise.

Dear Mick

You taught our son Freddie for about 2 years. Our original objective was to get him to a basic competency so that he could play a guitar piece as part of his GCSE Music exam which you achieved with complete success. Perhaps more importantly you gave Freddie enthusiasm for and a love of guitars and of music in general which will stay with him throughout his life. We obviously appreciate the way you combined more formal aspects of teaching through handouts and weekly practice work through to passing on your own enthusiasm. We especially liked the interest you had in the music he listened to and the way you built this into his learning and playing.
 

I hope he will continue with some one-off lessons to sharpen up but you have already given him the tools to self-teach and play in a band with friends.

Thanks for a great informed and well planned guitar lesson, you are so patient. The music folder you prepared for me enabled me to go away and practice with confidence by myself after the lesson. Thank you again I am very much enjoying my learning journey thanks to you.
